Send a message

Use the Message feature in 247connect to send one-way messages to end users. This is useful for sharing instructions, alerts or important updates.

Send a message

To managed devices

  1. Go to Managed in the side menu.

  2. Select the device from a device group.

Note: You can quickly access the remote features by hovering over a device in the side menu, clicking the three dots icon Three vertical dots. and choosing a feature from the list.

To on-demand sessions

  1. Go to On-demand in the side menu.

  2. Select the required session.

Click Message in the toolbar.

When using the Web Portal in Safari, click Open when prompted.

Sign in to your 247connect account when prompted.

By default, connecting to an On-demand Agent requires user approval. You can also enable user acknowledgement for Managed Agents in Device group settings. While waiting, you'll see a User Acknowledgement message. Click Cancel to stop the request.

Compose and send your message

  1. Type your message in the text box.

  2. Select an icon to match the urgency of your message:

    A "no" symbol or prohibition sign with a diagonal line across a circle. No icon is shown.
    Blue circle with a white lowercase letter "i" inside. Information.
    Green circle with a white question mark inside. Question.
    Yellow triangle with a white exclamation mark inside. Warning.
    Red octagon with a white cross inside. Error.
  3. (Optional) Include an audible alert to highlight the message. Click the Audio Green circle icon with a white speaker and a red diagonal line across it. icon until it shows as active Green circle with a white speaker with sound waves..

  4. (Optional) Set how long the message should appear on the end user's screen (in seconds). If left blank, the message stays on screen until the end user clicks OK.

  5. Click the Send Upward arrow inside a blue circle. icon.

The message appears on the end user's screen.

Popup message window. The message is from Jane Neal and reads: "Please restart your machine." The message was received at 16:24. The window includes two buttons: Copy on the left and OK on the right. A blue progress bar appears at the bottom, indicating how long the message will remain visible.

The end user can click Copy to copy the message to their clipboard. Click OK to close the message or it will disappear automatically after the set time.
