Clone a role

To save time when creating new roles, you can clone an existing role. This is useful when the new role needs similar permissions to an existing role.

Notes:
  • You can't clone the Global Administrator role.

  • Cloning a role copies its permissions but not its assignments.

To clone a role

  1. Go to Account > Roles in the side menu.

  2. Select the CloneTwo overlapping rectangles. icon next to the role you want to copy.

  3. In the Confirmation dialog, you can enter a new name for the role. Click Clone.

  4. The new role appears in the list.

  5. Click the role name to adjust its permissions and assign to users, user groups and device groups.
